Medical ICU & Medical HDU

The medical ICU in Northwest General Hospital is a state-of-art ICU fully prepared and equipped to meet the needs of critically ill patients. It is led by two renowned expert consultants Dr. Arsalan Rahat Ullah and Dr. Muhammad Asim. Quality healthcare is provided by well trained staff, and to ensure this quality the patient to expert nurses ratio has been kept at 1:1. The department practices a holistic attitude towards patients dealing with each aspect from Critical Care, Pulmonology, Internal Medicines, Psychiatry, Physiotherapy, Nutrition, Nephrology, Gastroenterology and other departments being catered to, as needed. The MICU has a 24-hours consultant on-call rota. The department is equipped with all modern equipment including ventilator, NIVs, high flow nasal cannula, invasive and non-invasive hemodynamic monitoring and ICUs own bronchoscope and ultrasound machine for rapid diagnosis and image guided procedures. Moreover procedures such as Endoscopy, Colonoscopy, Echocardiography, Dialysis, Bronchoscopy and all kinds of ultrasounds are performed at bedside. The department is completely paperless and follows strict infection control protocols.
