The Department of Neonatology, Northwest General Hospital successfully conducted the 8th Neonatal Resuscitation Workshop under the Northwest Neonatal Simulation Center on the 27th of May, 2023. The session was attended by Dr. Inamullah Khan, Health & Nutrition Officer UNICEF, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The workshop commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran following the registrations of the participants. Dr. Bilal Ahmed Sethi, Consultant Neonatology and Paediatrician, NWGH gave a brief introduction about the course and the NRP lectures were followed by four hands-on stations each one dedicated towards the use of resuscitation devices, chest compression, endotracheal intubation, and medications demonstrations. Thereafter, simulation-based neonatal emergency scenarios were assigned to participants in groups of two, video recordings were made and then a debriefing was given based on the videos.
Dr. Inamullah Khan distributed certificates among the participants and commended the workshop.
