Northwest General Hospital (NWGH) observed World Radiography Day on November 8, 2023, paying homage to the discovery of X-rays and honouring the dedication of radiologists, radiographers and the supporting staff. The day was made colourful by the commendable efforts of numerous residents of the radiology department who orchestrated the day’s proceedings.
Dr. Zia Ur Rehman, CEO of NWGH, and Dr. Shandana Khan, the Head of the Department of Radiology, graced the event. Their presence underscored the significance of radiography as the backbone of the healthcare industry. Both emphasised in their speeches that without radiology, the foundation of effective healthcare would be fundamentally compromised. Dr. Shandana Khan dedicated the day to the radiographers and support staff.
The event culminated with an acknowledgement of the dedicated service and commitment of the radiologic technicians. Dr. Zia Ur Rehman and Dr. Shandana Khan distributed certificates of appreciation among the technicians, recognising their unwavering dedication to their field. These certificates served as a token of gratitude for their pivotal role in ensuring the efficacy and precision of radiological processes.
