NWGH hosted an informative breast cancer awareness session on October 10, 2023 at the Nahaqi Satellite Hospital, Peshawar, dedicated to empowering and educating the participating local women and LHVs about breast health. The event was conducted by Dr. Tarbia Hamid, Consultant Breast and General Surgeon along with Dr. Sana Iqbal, Consultant Radiologist, Dr. Farah Wahid and Dr. Sumbal Moeen, Post Graduate Trainees. The speakers shared valuable insights on early detection, prevention, and treatment options for breast cancer, emphasising the importance of regular screenings and self-examinations.
In addition to the informative sessions led by medical experts, the doctors conducted OPDs, offering their expertise to attendees. Moreover, the breast surgeon provided free breast examination services to patients, while the radiologist performed free breast ultrasounds to patients, further enhancing the accessibility of crucial breast health services within the community.
