He holds various qualifications and certifications, including an MBBS degree from Khyber Medical College, Peshawar in 1984 followed by his FCPS from the College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan in 1995. He then went on to pursue a fellowship in Ophthalmic Plastic, Orbital Diseases, and Ocular Oncology from LV Prasad Eye Institute, Hyderabad, India in 2008.
