Dr. Nighat Aziz is working as a Professor and Consultant in the Anesthesiology Department at Northwest General Hospital & Research Centre, Peshawar. Dr. Nighat is involved in the total perioperative care of patients before, during and after surgery, including Anesthesia, Intensive Care Medicine, Critical Emergency Medicine, and Pain Medicine. Dr. Nighat has a special interest in Chronic Pain Management.
Dr. Nighat Aziz retired as a Professor of Anesthesia from the public sector in 2020, having worked for 15 years as a faculty member in Khyber Teaching Hospital. Dr. Nighat holds vast experience as Consultant Anaesthetist with experience in conducting Anesthesia, Teaching and Administrative work.
Dr. Nighat Aziz is a faculty member of the College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan (CPSP), and a general member of the Society for the Treatment Study of Pain (STSP), Pakistan. Dr. Nighat has also remained Vice President of the KP Chapter of the Pakistan Society of Anesthesiologists (PSA – KP).
Dr. Nighat Aziz completed her MBBS from KMC in 1985. She then went on to complete her Post Graduate training from KTH for her Fellowship in Anesthesiology, which she obtained in CPSP 2004. Dr. Nighat also holds a Diploma in Anesthesiology from PESHAWAR UNIVERSITY in 1998 for which she was awarded a Distinction. Dr. Nighat continued with higher studies and completed an M.Sc. in Anesthesiology from Riphah University in Rawalpindi with a Gold Medal.
