Dr. Arbab Nisar Ahmad Khan is Consultant Nephrologist in Northwest General Hospital and Research Center, Peshawar. His department is concerned with the study of kidneys, the preservation of kidney health, and the treatment of kidney disease, from diet and medication to renal replacement therapy. He has special interest in the areas of dialysis and transplantation.
Dr. Arbab Nisar Ahmad Khan is a pioneer in the field of nephrology, dialysis and transplantation in the province. Dr. Arbab Nisar gained his initial experience during his Post-Graduate Training in UK, where he stayed after completing his training. He has trained and worked at University Hospital Cardiff, Royal Hallamshire Hospital Sheffield, Hull Royal Infirmary, Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham, Royal Liverpool University Hospital, Hammersmith Hospital London and Canterbury Hospital Kent. After moving to Pakistan, Dr. Arbab Nisar aided in establishing the Nephrology and Dialysis service of Lady Reading Hospital (LRH) Peshawar. Later on in his career, Dr. Arbab Nisar founded the Nephrology and Dialysis Unit in Rehman Medical Institute and then in Northwest General Hospital Peshawar.
Dr. Arbab Nisar Ahmad Khan is a member of Pakistan Society of Nephrology (PSN) and International Society of Nephrology (ISN).
After completing his MBBS from KMC Peshawar in1980, Dr. Arbab Nisar completed his training in the field of Nephrology, Dialysis and Transplantation in the United Kingdom where he worked in several prestigious teaching institutions. Dr. Arbab Nisar also holds a diploma in Nephrology from Royal College School Hammersmith, London, which he attained in 1990.
