Dr. Amjad Ali Shah is an Assistant Professor of Surgery with a special interest in general and laparoscopic surgery. He completed his MBBS from Khyber Medical College and obtained his FCPS in General Surgery from the College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan (CPSP).

Dr. Amjad Ali Shah has been serving as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Surgery at Northwest Teaching Hospital and Northwest School of Medicine in Peshawar, KP since February 2018. Prior to that, he worked as a Senior Registrar in the Department of Surgery at Northwest General Hospital in Peshawar from July 2016 to February 2018.

During his post-graduate training, Dr. Shah gained experience in various surgical specialities including orthopaedic surgery, cardiothoracic surgery, neurosurgery, and plastic surgery. He also served as a house officer in general medicine and general surgery at Lady Reading Hospital in Peshawar.

Dr. Shah has performed a wide range of elective and emergency general surgical procedures, including laparoscopic surgeries such as laparoscopic cholecystectomy, assisted hysterectomy, assisted lap nephrectomy, and transabdominal preperitoneal laparoscopic hernia repair. He has also assisted in upper and lower GI endoscopies at Northwest General Hospital.

Dr. Amjad Ali Shah has worked on projects related to the frequency of port site infection in children undergoing laparoscopic appendectomy and the frequency of conversion to open cholecystectomy in patients undergoing laparoscopic cholecystectomy. He has also conducted research on the frequency of liver injury in blunt abdominal trauma, which was approved by CPSP (Pakistan).

Dr. Shah has participated in workshops on laparoscopic colorectal surgery, endourology, flexible ureteroscopy, and various other surgical conferences and seminars. His expertise and passion for surgery make him a valuable asset to the field of medicine.
