An enlightening Breast Cancer Awareness session was organised by Northwest General Hospital at the Rural Health Centre (RHC) in Patwar Bala, Peshawar, on November 2nd, 2023. The event served as an informative platform to raise awareness and provide insights into the prevention, detection, and management of breast cancer, catering to the local community’s healthcare needs.
Led by NWGH, the session was conducted by Dr. Fariha Afzal, Consultant Radiologist and Dr. Zara Mohammad, Consultant Family Medicine at NWGH along with their team members, including Dr. Ayesha Amjad, Dr. Muneeba Javed, and Dr. Ammara Sardar, Post Graduate Trainees, NWGH.
The RHC team, comprising proficient medical officers, made invaluable contributions to the session including Dr. Mir Karim Shah, the Incharge Medical Officer at RHC, Dr. Hina Khan and Dr. Maria Khalil, Gynaecologists, Dr. Taj Bahadur, Paediatrician, and Dr. Muniba Hassan, Sonologist at RHC.
The session was a comprehensive and educational experience, fostering a deeper understanding of breast cancer’s challenges and avenues for early detection and treatment.
