AHA Certified ACLS Workshop at Northwest General Hospital and Research Centre
The Medical Professional Education Department, Northwest General Hospital in collaboration with the American Heart Association (AHA) Pakistan, has arranged an AHA-certified Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) workshop on the 16th of January 2024, at Northwest General Hospital and Research Centre.
ACLS covered.
Basic life support skills, including effective chest compressions, use of a bag-mask device, and use of an AED.
Recognition and early management of respiratory and cardiac arrest.
Recognition and early management of peri-arrest conditions such as symptomatic bradycardia.
Airway management.
Related pharmacology.
Management of ACS and stroke.
Effective communication as a member and leader of a resuscitation team.
Seven Medical professionals from 6 departments (Department of Anesthesiology, Critical Care Medicine, General Medicine, Endocrinology, Cardiology, and Pulmonology) successfully passed the course. Participants expressed their satisfaction with the workshop, citing the relevance of the content, the expertise of the instructors, and the practical nature of the training.
The success of this collaboration has opened the door for future initiatives aimed at enhancing the capabilities of healthcare professionals in the region.
