A One-Day Symposium on “Difficult Urinary Catheterization: Assessment, Techniques and Management”

The Medical Professional Education Deanery (MPED), in collaboration with the Urology Department, Northwest General Hospital & Research Centre (NWGH&RC), Peshawar, organized a one-day symposium on “Difficult Urinary Catheterization: Assessment, Techniques and Management.”

The session focused on the assessment, catheter selection, preparation, insertion techniques, and management of difficult catheterization cases. Participants also gained practical insights into the proper and safe catheterization process, with emphasis on minimizing complications and ensuring patient safety.

Senior Registrars (SRs), Postgraduate Trainees (PGTs), House Officers (HOs), and Nursing Staff actively participated in the symposium and practical learning activities. Their involvement promoted multidisciplinary learning, teamwork, and the sharing of clinical experiences.

The interactive session provided valuable opportunities to strengthen participants’ knowledge, confidence, and practical skills in urinary catheterization and its management.
