Prof. Tariq Khan Meets Tanzanian President – A Proud Moment for Pakistan

A proud moment for Pakistan, for Northwest General Hospital & Research Centre, and for global neurosurgery.

Prof. Tariq Khan, Chairman of the WFNS Global Neurosurgery Committee and the organizing head of the Dar es Salaam Conference, was part of the conference inauguration today, graced by Her Excellency President Samia Suluhu Hassan of Tanzania as Chief Guest.

It was especially encouraging to witness the close and meaningful interaction between Her Excellency and Prof. Tariq Khan on the importance of global neurosurgery, brain injury advocacy, and collective international action. Her support for the proposed Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) resolution and for the growing global coalition led by Prof. Tariq Khan reflects the strength and urgency of this movement.

Prof. Tariq Khan’s feature on Tanzanian national television is another proud reflection of his leadership, advocacy, and international standing. He continues to represent Pakistan with distinction on the global stage, serving as a strong voice for equitable neurosurgical care, policy advocacy, and international collaboration.

For Northwest General Hospital and for Pakistan overall, this is a moment of great pride — to see one of our own leading conversations that are shaping the future of global health and global neurosurgery.
