World Epilepsy Day

Northwest General Hospital & Research Centre (NWGHRC) organized an awareness walk to mark World Epilepsy Day, reaffirming its commitment to public health education and community awareness about epilepsy and neurological disorders.

The awareness walk was led by renowned medical professionals including Dr. M. Athar Khalily, Consultant Paediatric Neurologist, Prof. Dr. M. Arif, Consultant Pediatrician & Neonatologist, Prof. Dr. Bilal Ahmad Sethi, Consultant Neonatologist & Paediatrician, and Dr. Raja Irfan Qadir, Professor and Head of the Orthopaedics Department. The event also saw active participation from medical officers, trainee medical officers, and postgraduate trainees, reflecting a strong culture of learning and advocacy within the institution.

The initiative aimed to dispel common myths surrounding epilepsy, promote early diagnosis, and highlight the importance of timely medical intervention and continuous care. Through this walk, NWGHRC emphasized that epilepsy is a manageable neurological condition and that individuals living with epilepsy can lead healthy, productive lives with proper treatment and support.
