As part of the prestigious ChestCon 2025, organized by the Pakistan Chest Society, a highly engaging and educational workshop on Invasive Mechanical Ventilation (IMV) was successfully held.
The session opened with the recitation of the Holy Quran, setting a respectful and reflective tone. Dr. Arslan Rahatullah delivered an insightful presentation on the fundamentals of IMV, providing a strong foundation for the hands-on learning that followed.
Renowned critical care specialists, Dr. Mohammad Asim and Dr. Sadia Ashraf, shared their expert perspectives on mechanical ventilation and the challenges of practicing critical care in our region, enriching the session with valuable clinical insights.
Participants actively engaged in four expert-led, hands-on stations:
IMV Basics – Dr. Arslan Rahatullah & Dr. Iftikhar Khan
Troubleshooting – Dr. Muhammad Hayat
Special Scenarios – Dr. Bilal
Weaning from Mechanical Ventilation – Dr. Khatira Wahid
We were honored by the presence of Dr. Zafar Iqbal (Lady Reading Hospital) and Dr. Hussain Ahmad (Khyber Teaching Hospital), whose attendance added distinction and encouragement to the event.
The workshop concluded with participant feedback, and the distribution of shields and certificates, marking a memorable and impactful learning experience.
