Northwest General Hospital & Research Centre has an active and busy Orthopaedic Department, dealing with trauma as well as congenital and acquired orthopaedic disorders. The department also sees chronic arthritis patients on a regular basis.

The Orthopaedic Department is managed by internationally trained, qualified and accredited doctors with vast national and international experience of dealing with Orthopaedic patients. With access to latest technologies and a well-equipped CSSD, the Orthopaedic surgeons routinely carry out major elective procedures such as joint replacements, limb preservation surgeries, arthroscopies and other complex procedures. All the patients are tended to in a dedicated Orthopaedic Ward managed by a Senior Registrar, and a team of Post-Graduate Trainee Officers and Medical Officers. Orthopaedic Consultants carry out daily rounds in the ward to ensure patients are receiving proper care.

To its credit, NWGH Orthopaedic Department is the first private healthcare setup, which established a POA Bone Bank in Pakistan.

The department has multi-disciplinary support of the Physiotherapy Department, Prosthetics and Orthotics, Maxillofacial Surgery and Paediatrics department as well for children with Orthopaedic disorders.

The Department is recognized by Pakistan Medical Council for House Job training and by College of Physicians & Surgeons of Pakistan for Post-Graduate Training under the supervision of recognized supervisors of the College.
