It is concerned with prevention, diagnosis, surgical treatment, and rehabilitation of disorders which affect any portion of the nervous system including the brain, spinal cord, central and peripheral nervous system, and cerebrovascular system.

Neurosurgical care encompasses both adult and pediatric patients.  Depending upon the nature of injury or disease, Neurological surgeons may provide surgical and/or non-surgical care.
